Growing up on THE continent called FUTURE, from my first days I have been surrounded by colors and music. It has shaped for life my mind and vision of style. I can’t dissociate the two: both colors and music lift your mood. The combination is what makes African Fashion unique.

African women are Queens whether they come from the Omo valley or they work for multinational companies in cities like Lagos, Abidjan, Cairo, Nairobi or Johannesburg... They all have this special sense of style wearing their turbans high on their heads and moving like no other women on earth.

I remember my elegant nanny Fanta attaching me with a beautiful wax fabric on her back and jiggling me whilst going to the market.
African fashion has evolved a great deal in the last few decades. It is more than just the variety of wax prints that have invaded our wardrobes in the last two seasons, more than the traditional clothes of 54 countries in Africa, more than the fantastical colors associated with the Sapeurs. It is a new continental language, a speech weaved by a new generation of designers who are redefining the aesthetics contours of a figure that has been reduced to pure cliché for a long time.

African fasion should be accessible to all types of women, of all skin types. It just needs to be adapted.
